We can clear courier shipments being shipped from the U.S. The courier company (Ups, FedEx, DHL, TNT) bringing your goods from the U.S. may offer customs clearance, however, many of our present clients discovered that our fees are less than half of what most courier companies charge. Please take a moment and look at our comparison chart to see how much we can save you on your personal courier shipments.

As an example, a shipment from the U.S. valued at $100.00 would cost you around $40.00 in brokerage and accessorial fees from the courier. Our flat fee for the same shipment would be a flat brokerage fee of $20.00.

We would like to take this opportunity to point out that most individuals believe they must use the same courier company shippingtheir order to clear their shipment. However, this information is incorrect. You do have a choice.

Many of our clients have told us that they only come to know of the customs brokerage charges when the shipment reaches their door and or when their bill arrives unexpectedly in the mail. We let all our clients know of the full charges before an invoice is printed, so you know exactly what you will be paying.

Procedure

To get customs clearance through a Customs Broker other than the courier companies in-house brokerage:

• 1. As soon as you receive the tracking number associated with the goods you ordered from the U.S., you will need to call the courier (numbers for major couriers listed below).
• 2. Inform the courier you would like to use your own customs broker for the shipment (reference the tracking number). Let them know Bay City Brokers is your customs broker. The courier will have our contact info on file (fax 866-806-3162). They will then forward all necessary customs paperwork to us
  for clearance.
• 3. Click on Tools tab (top right), click on documents, and fill out the “courier shipment form” and either fax to 1-866-806-3162 or email us the form plus a copy of the invoice that shows the item description and purchase price (could be a detailed Paypal receipt). Call us and let us know the above steps have been completed so we can get in touch with the courier to avoid any delays.
